OR & SW WA Philanthropy Trends -- the video!
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBUkSJOVMVA] Check out this video sharing highlights of the 2014 Philanthropy Trends Survey for Oregon and Southwest Washington. The survey uncovered some interesting findings, including campaigns -- everyone's doing one these days; securing donors from outside of Oregon and Washington; and the success of small shops relative to large shops. All of these things are connected in a thread that finally leads to me quoting former president George W. Bush. For real! Watch all the way to the end for that special moment.
I was very pleased to be one of the featured panelists to discuss the findings, as I conducted analysis and summarized the results of the "bellwether" case study (a subset of the larger survey), which took a special look at shops in our region that raise big dollars. The survey was sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Oregon and Southwest Washington and the Oregon Community Foundation, and produced by Retriever Development.
Note that things really get rolling, survey results-wise, around the 6:30 mark in the video.
