Lunch and Program: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

registration opens at 11:00 a.m.

This presentation with Amanda Jarman from Fundraising Nerd and Lori Sweeney from the OHSU Foundation will be a dialogue about the “state of the union” on metrics, how to personalize them for your organization and staff, what to watch out for and why it’s hard to pin down a “gold standard.” Amanda and Lori will explore metrics in all its messiness and help you leave the session with a better understanding of what works for you and your organization.  You’ll find that Amanda and Lori’s expertise and approaches complement and synergize this topic, in the same way that good metrics and data input are excellent management tools that can make the difference for resource efficiency, identifying gaps and building staff skill sets.

Lori (Cloninger) Sweeney has worked in development and fundraising for more than 30 years with experiences ranging from her undergraduate alma mater, Whitworth University, to a prep school in Brentwood, California to Oregon State and OHSU Foundations. Lori holds a M.Ed. from UCLA. She is a native Oregonian who knows the broad landscape of fundraising in this region and is enthusiastic about development. She teaches in the WVDO/PSU professional fundraising certificate program and coaches via She is the proud (and harried) mother of a teenage boy and is married to a great guy who regularly makes dinner as she pursues the advancement profession.
